I wish that I could say, along with King David (Psalm 26:1ff), “Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the Lord without wavering…” But I/we know better. On my own, I am more like “the fool” and “the sluggard” of Proverbs. I am a man of deeply ingrained folly!
So, I thank You, Father, for the gift of Your Son, the cleansing of my sins (for they are many) and for the “imputed righteousness” of Christ to me and to my spiritual account! To think that I have actually been credited with the righteousness of Jesus Christ! That is beyond amazing – like a beggar having a billion dollars a day put in his checking account! I did not earn it, I cannot exhaust it and I will never lose it – it is mine!
Thank You, Father, that because of Your Grace I can say with David (Psalm 26:12), “My feet stand on level ground; in the great assembly I will praise the Lord.” Because as the Apostle Paul says, “it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” Therefore, all I need, all I hope for, all I could never have obtained, is mine!
May I live today in the light, joy, peace, love and power of Your Amazing Grace! May I be a conduit of Your Grace to others. May my life be more like Jesus and less like me! Amen!
